Crime Bloopers: Man Gets Busted for Marijuana After Reporting Theft

When you invite police into your home, it’s probably a good idea to make sure nothing illegal is lying around. A man in Marion County called police to report that his ATV had been stolen. However, instead of finding and arresting the thief, police arrested the man after finding two marijuana plants growing in his back yard.

"I knew I should have cleaned up before inviting company over!"

The man claims that he was growing the plants as an experiment, and was released on a $2,000 bail bond. The ATV itself was valued at $3,000, and is still missing. Sounds like a pretty rotten deal. Looking for a drug crimes lawyer? Contact the experienced office of Brian J. Smith (702) 380-8248.
