Crime Bloopers: Disabled Woman Stops Would-Be Robbers with Cane
Oct. 10, 2012
A disabled woman in Delaware foiled an attempted robbery with her cane. The 55-year-old woman said she saw the man coming in through her window, and began wielding her cane to make him think twice about entering. Although the robber was a few decades younger than her, he turned tail and ran after facing the wrath of her cane.

The woman, who identified herself as Anita, says that her father told her, “if the Bible don’t get you, the cane will get you.” Good advice, especially when interpreted literally. Police think that the robber might be connected to another theft involving a large television from a house nearby.
